The play explores the concepts of family, love, justice, and revenge. Francis is at the top of his game, solving cold-case after cold-case after winning the favor of law enforcement agencies near and far. From INTERPOL to Small Town, USA, there isn’t an agency that is able to resist his charm. When calamity strikes close to home, Francis starts to unravel— is he losing his touch? Is this case too personal? How far will he go to get justice for someone he loves?

Actor/writer/creator/producer Nathan Tylutki was once in the cast of a ten-minute play I wrote that was part of community ten minute play festival curated by Bedlam Theatre (RIP) long enough ago that Bedlam was still in Minneapolis in its first of two West Bank venues. The characters in that ten-minute play evolved into a full-length play years later called “Leave, or the Surface of the World” about the emotional fallout from the former “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in the U.S. military.
Consulting Director Ellen Fenster-Gharib was once in charge of the Chicago Avenue Project at Pillsbury House Theater, where child actors from their neighborhood acting classes are paired with adult playwrights, directors and actors to have a play written for them which the kid then rehearses and performs alongside the adult actor. It’s a great program. I volunteered to write for it three times. One time, Ellen was the director on a script I wrote and the adult actor was Josh Hartnett, playing a 6’3” talking worm.
Those are peculiar personal reasons, of course, but given that I’ve worked with both of them before and know them as artists, if they’re involved in this one, I’m game. Never seen a one-person whodunnit before. Sounds like fun.

Congress, and the Minneapolis school board on my ballot) - final day to

We're lucky to have a lot of time to get our voices heard, so cast your
vote, and then make sure everyone you know and love is registered and
gets to the polls to vote. Election Day, your final date to vote, is Tuesday, November 5th.
As a queer playwright and theater maker, I want a government that's compassionate and competent enough to keep us all safe and healthy, keep theaters open and running, and personally, I'd just like to be legal myself and keep the weirdos out of government and out of my personal business (and the things I post on this blog, for instance). We all have our reasons, so let's make sure we get the leaders we need and deserve, and get our friends, family and co-workers to raise their voices, too.
