In addition to being a Fringe show hostess, Kendra is a fellow theater blogger here in the Twin Cities, so I couldn’t very well skip over her variety show, now could I?
The Kendra Plant Variety Hour: Good Things Edition! With Special Guests
Kendra Plant
Venue: Mixed Blood
Show Description:
This variety show brings together music, movement, and story telling to celebrate those messy, funny, and sometimes difficult steps we take on the way to something good.
Genre & Content: Comedy, Dance, Original Music, Storytelling
Warnings: None
Kendra has an intriguing mix of guests, including storyteller and burlesque dancer Jolie Meshbesher, Taiko Arts Midwest bringing both taiko drumming and Japanese lion dancing, and composer and pianist Emily Boyajian, whose impressive musical Fringe show last year (Transition: a Story of 2 Trans People Becoming Themselves) was the very first thing I saw in the festival, and remained among my favorites even after seeing another fifty shows. So it all should make for a very eclectic hour of entertainment.
Update 7/24/2025, their Fringe preview:
Here’s some handy links to my Fringe Top 10, Top 11 to 20 and Returning Favorites lists for this year, as well as all the coverage of this year’s Minnesota Fringe Festival.
