Here's what Mom and I are seeing over the next 48 hours of Fringe Festival madness, otherwise known as Day 1 and 2, warming up for the monster weekend marathon of theater...
(sorry for the radio silence, no internet connection last night (argh), and spent the bulk of today dealing with the fallout from my dead car)

Aardvark Fandango (returning favorite) - Southern Theater
Third Rabbit Dance Ensemble
"Nine succinct dances in jazz and modern styles. SAGE award-winning choreographer John Munger shows his versatility once again. Recommended for people new to dance. Guest artists from Fringe on each show."
John Munger has always been my ambassador to the dance world. He showed me that dance could be fun and enjoyable, and continues to introduce me to new dancers and choreographers, and expand my horizons to find new modes of movement I like to watch. It's why he was on my pre-Fringe Top 10 list in 2007, and why last year's My Body Made Me Do This was more in a long line of 5 star fun from his Third Rabbit Dance Ensemble. It's a great way to cap off our first day of Fringing, and a great addition to anyone's Fringe schedule.

ROBO-homa! A Territory Tale with a Technological Twist (returning favorite) - Rarig Proscenium
Rewired Theatre Company
"In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a desperate loner stumbles upon a tribe of robots programmed to recreate American musical theatre in an attempt to save humanity. As he learns their familiar ways, things take a turn for the deadly. . .
Or is it 'daid'-ly?
And why do they keep calling him Jud? and what's all this talk about a box social?
Are these musical androids pursuing the American dream, or are they intent on destroying the last of civilization?
Find out in ROBO-homa! A Territory Tale with a Technological Twist."
This is the brainchild of Mark Sweeney, another member of Perpetual Motion Theatre Company (responsible for some of my recent Fringe favorites like The Depth of the Ocean and One Night Only With Mike Mahony), striking out on his own for a mix of the classic musical "Oklahoma" and robots.
Do you really need more than musical, and robots?
I don't. Not with Sweeney involved.
Though I do keep making it a gay robot musical by mispronouncing it Robo-Homo all the time, but that's my problem.
