We’re back down to just four shows on the itinerary this evening (phew). Mom gets an afternoon power nap today (though she was holding up better than me yesterday :)
Some Top 10/Top 20 list shows, plus shows from my random shout-out list, make for a cluster that will keep us in Uptown on Monday night.
First two shows of the night are at Intermedia Arts:
5:30pm - Wait…didn’t Patrick’s Cabaret close? - Patrick’s Cabaret (so, the answer to that question is no :)
An entry from my list of random shout-outs, this rotating roster of performers for Monday night features: Adrienne Kleinman, Addison Sharpe, and Track Lighting (an improv troupe, not a lighting fixture)
7pm - Out of the Shadows - Gabriel Mata/Movements
This dancer/choreographer is on my Top 10 list this year (at #5), so I’ve written about him before. Great Fringe preview. Very much looking forward to this. Over two dozen audience reviews, nearly all of them five stars.
Then we walk down the block and around the corner and conclude our night with two shows at the Bryant Lake Bowl:
8:30pm - Songs of MN Summer - Shrieking Harpies
These women were on my Top 20 list this year (at #12), so I’ve written about them before. A fully improvised musical is a lot of fun to watch take shape. Their audience reviews so far are looking good, just one performance but over half a dozen reviews, all five stars.
10pm - Not Quite: Asian American By Law, Asian Woman By Desire - Renegade Ada Cheng
Cheng was already on my random shout-outs list due to the GLBT content tag on her solo storytelling show. Her Fringe preview at the Touring Artists Showcase further sold me on her as a performer with a compelling and amusing story to tell.
And here's some handy links to all the 5 star shows, 4-1/2 star shows and 4 star shows I've seen in the Fringe thus far (many of which have performances this evening, one of which closes tonight), plus the full list of pre-Fringe top 10, and 11-20, the rest of the returning favorites, and all the random shout outs in these Top 10/Top 20 posts - links all gathered in a single list to take you to fuller posts and Fringe pages. Enjoy!
