My Only Hope For A Hero
Local theater maker, Duck Washington, returns to the Fringe with his one person exploration of bravery and cowardice. In this ever changing world, does Duck have what it takes to be a hero? Does anyone?
Venue: Southern Theater
Tagged for: Comedy, Drama, Solo Show, and Storytelling
Content Warnings: adult language, suicidal ideation/self-harm
Duck was #1 on the pre-Fringe Top 10 list back in 2016 with “Caucasian Aggressive Pandas and Other Mulatto Tales” which he wrote, produced and starred in. He’s teaming up again with Pandas director Jena Young, so all signs point to another great Fringe offering. Duck’s going solo this time and I’m super excited to watch him in action.
And because Fringe is the time of year when some artists decide to see how many shows they can perform in during an 11-day sprint before collapsing, Duck is in another show from another Top 10 fringer from years past, which I’ll hit in our next post.
UPDATE 8/3: Duck did a Fringe preview (complete with action figures) on Fringe Eve, the night before the festival began:
Here's some handy links to this year's Top 10, and Top 11-20 Lists, plus the full list of all returning favorites at this year's Fringe, plus a link to all the 2023 Minnesota Fringe Festival coverage.
