Fringe 2022 - Top 20 - #17 - Jon Bennett: Fire in the Meth Lab – 2Hoots Productions

Dear Brother, How’s jail? I’ve written a show about you, is that ok? You’re in jail so you can’t really say no. Love your little brother, Jon

This is just one of those shows that it looks like the artist has been honing his craft touring it all over the place and getting raves while he does it, and it’s a comedy and I could use some reliable laughs.

5 stars from the Edmonton Sun, the National Post and the Sunday
4 stars from Chortle in the UK, which called it “Belly Laugh Funny and Emotionally Powerful”
Also 4 stars from Time Out Magazine, which said it was, ““Gut-wrenchingly good.  Bennett is a master storyteller.”
Jon and/or this show was a 2013 and 2014 selection in Montreal’s Just for Laughs Zoofest, a Critics Choice Award Winner at the San Diego Fringe, a Best Comedy nominee in Montreal five years running, and a nominee at Melbourne International Comedy Festival for something called the Golden Gibbo Award.

So, the guy brings the funny.  I’m curious to see what all the fuss is about.

Jon Bennett: Fire in the Meth Lab lists “audience participation” in the genres list for this one, but I’m assuming that doesn’t mean we’re all getting meth for attending.
